What have you contributed this week?
This week we had finished and completed all the paperwork needed before shooting and it was all uploaded on our blogs. With the paperwork completed we were eager and excited to officially start shooting. On Thursday 12th February we had begun shooting our chorus for our song. For this we used the studio recording room after school. We were in school till about 6 o'clock and were pleased to achieve all the footage for the chorus. We then collected all the footage and uploaded straight away onto Final Cut Express. We wanted to upload as we go along so the ideas are still fresh in our minds. It will also make it easier as we will try to edit as we go along as best as we can. This will speed the process up when it comes to the editing so there will be no rushing towards the final deadline.
How does this fit in with the productions schedule/job roles/overall ideas of the project?
We initially wanted to start filming on the Wednesday and were gutted to know that we couldn't because although our paperwork was done it was not uploaded on our blogs. This really pulled us back in the schedule we wanted to abide by. However we had pulled through on the Thursday and did the whole chorus which was a good achievement for us considering we had missed a day of filming. The ideas are still sticking to plan and we haven't strayed away from our shooting script which is good.
Were there any problems?
There was just the issue of the fact we couldn't begin recording on the Wednesday like planned.
How did you/will you overcome them?
We overcame this problem by shooting on the next day and made sure we completed all the shots in this specific location. We wanted all the studio shots to be done all in once because we didn't know when the studio will be next available. Also throughout the half term there will be no access to the studio.
What are your plans for the following week?
This week coming is half term which is where the majority of our shooting will be done. We aim to get all the the footage completed by the end of next week ready for the new term to edit and complete the music video.

Permission to Film
In this part of the documentation before filming we had to ask permission for the locations that we wanted to film in and what they have responded saying.
The first location(s)
Jasmine's room - (Prinul's sisters room)
Hotel room -(Prinul's mum and dads room)
Hall way -(Prinul's hall way in house)
living room -(Prinul's living room in his house)
All of these locations are in Prinul's home making it family property so we did not need permission to film here, because he lives there are his family would not mind us filing in the house to produce a project for our final grades.
Hotel lobby - (Prinul's uncles house)
The location we have chosen to film are hotel lobby scene is in Prinul's uncles house. We were fortunate enough to get permission to film here because it is his uncles house so we did not need formal permission to film there. But we have asked him if it is okay out of good will and he said "Yes that is okay, take as long as you like"
Street - (Ashburton Avenue)
The street we are using to filing some of are scene at is a street near to were Prinul lives. This is a public place so we did not need any formal permission to film there.
School Studio
We are filing in the school studio to film are chorus in there. It is not a public place so we have to get permission from there teacher that is in charge of the school studio. This is Mr D, we found him after school on day and explained to him that we are filing a music video and need the school studio afters school on the 12-2-14. He said "Yeah that is fine, you can use it"
Hotel lift (School lift)
We are using the school lift to act as a hotel lift. The lifts in school are normally locked and the keys are normally held by the corridor ladies. So at lunch I asked miss Miss knight is we could have asses to one of the lifts in the school and she said "Ok yeah that is fine just remind to on the day you want the key and i will open it for you, no problem"

Job Roles and Responsibilities
The two main job roles in this project are
Me and my partner have decided on combining and sharing out the job roles. We didn't want to assign one specific job to one person. We felt if we did that we wouldn't be able to be fully aware of what was going on when it came to the editing and filming so when combining both roles together making us both aware and ensuring both our ideas will be incorporated in the music video. We are both clear with what we want our video to look like so if it came to Prinul having to film one day on his own he will have my up-most trust that it will look the way i would like it too. If we were to split the job roles i feel that Prinul would be best as Camera Operator and Editor this is because he has done media before.
His skills will be a bit more advanced than mine as i have only started media this year. I, however, will be more suited to the role of Director and Production manager. This is because I actually do Drama as an A Level which consists of me taking charge, organizing and directing certain things. Although we have our strong and weak points this project is a team effort and will need both strengths on both parts to ensure a good music video. When it comes to editing we will both be doing it as it will become a quicker progress and we can debate and converse about how we wanted certain shots to look.

Production Log: Week 3
What have you contributed this week?
This week we had finally finished our shooting script. The completed script had come to 122 shots which had included a short intro to the music video. Before we came to our end of the shooting script we had ended on just 109 shots. The reason to why we had completed with 122 was because with the feedback we had from our teacher, we had to cut and add in certain areas in the music video to make it more clearer to the audience. Our initial idea consisted of the chorus being a mixture of narrative and performance styles. Our teacher advised us that we stuck to the original lay out of the music video which would be performance styles during the chorus and running narrative throughout the bridge and the verses. The advice we were given was really helpful and gave us a better understanding on what we wanted in our music video. After adding and taking out the changes we were pleased with the ending product of our music video and was then assigned to do some paperwork which will be needed before we were able to start filming. The paper work was begun during the lesson, because we were so tight with time and wanted to film as soon as possible me and Prinul had split the paperwork but still asked each other if they thought what we had written was okay to submit. We have currently done 2 out of the 6 documents. All documents will be completed by Wednesday 12th February.
How does this fit in with the production schedule/job roles/ overal ideas of the project?
Because the shooting script is now complete to a good standard we are now aware of what needs to be done when it comes to what locations and what we are going to do when at these locations. Job roles have already been assigned equally between me and Prinul and we have told our cast when and where we will need them in the upcoming weeks. The ideas in our project are running smoothly as we have fortunately been quite precise on what we want. There has been no time wasted talking for ages on what we want.
Were there any problems?
When listening to our feedback we felt like there will be an issue changing our ideas around in the shooting script. We feared that it may become abit confusing which would mean we would need to start from scratch. With careful consideration we were able to make the clean cut changes without having to start all over again. Other than that we have not come across any problems at all and are still working well as a team.
How did you/will you overcome them?
We had overcome the situation by sitting down together with a pen and paper discussing on what we needed to take out and put in enabling the shooting script run smoothly. The feedback we were given was vital as it will help us achieve a better grade.
What are the plans for the following week?
We will finish of any paperwork which needs to be done before shooting, we will also double check with the permission of shooting at certain locations such as the hotel. Once completed we will begin filming after school ours or at lunch times as our cast has other lessons to attend throughout the day.

Production Log: Week 2
What have you contributed this week?
In the second week of pre- production myself and Prinul had begun creating our shooting script. We were told that we needed to aim for at least 75 shots for the 100 shot goal in the coming week (05/04/2014). We both had hit this minimum really well and are really pleased with the shots we have so far. We had a mutual understanding on what we wanted our shots to look like and how we wanted to display it when it came to making our video. Compared to the class we felt that we were behind with the amount of shots produced during lesson time, however we went at this pace to make sure we had taken every little detail into consideration, so when it comes to producing our music video there will be no problems or confusion. Because we were behind in the amount of shots we had taken our own time on the weekend by Skyping each other and fulfilling the 75 shots. We didn't want to complete the shooting script just yet as we wanted some advice from our teachers on how we should fix the ending of our idea, this is because me and Prinul cant find a good solution for our music video to end without making it end randomly and not smoothly, when we have some direction I am sure we will be able to come to and agreement on how we should end the video.
How does this fit in with the production schedule/job roles/overall ideas of the project?
The shooting script will be very beneficial for us in the future as it is a structural guideline on what we want our video to look like. This also makes good use of our time so we don't end up at our location not knowing what to do
Were there any problems?
There was some problem deciding on when we would be able to Skype as we both have weekend jobs, however we came to a decide that we would do it every Sunday so we will be able to update our weekly progression in these production logs etc.
How did you/will you overcome them?
It was not a huge problem at all and was resolved well as we will made the shots in time like we were supposed too.
What are the plans for the following week?
The main deadline for 100 shots on the shooting script is on Wednesday so lessons until then will be based on completing and perfecting what we have already.
